NERMIN GUL

An educational project dedicated to making the night sky accessible to everyone.

Our Story

NERMIN GUL began in 2014 as a small circle of friends in Istanbul who gathered on rooftops and in nearby parks to learn the constellations together. What started as a hobby quickly became a shared passion for bringing astronomy to people who had never considered themselves "science people."

Over the years we have organized hundreds of free public star parties, school workshops, and online resources. Our guiding principle has always been simple: the universe is for everyone. You do not need a degree, a large telescope, or perfect conditions to enjoy the sky.

Today, Ancient Meadow Glow continues that mission with carefully written guides, practical observing advice, and a deep respect for the wonder and humility that comes from looking up.

What We Believe

  • The night sky is a shared heritage, not a product.
  • Beginners deserve clear, honest, and encouraging information.
  • Observation comes before theory. See first, then learn.
  • Light pollution awareness and dark sky protection matter.
  • Everyone progresses at their own pace. There are no tests.

OUR HOME BASE
Dolmabahçe, Istanbul
From the hills surrounding the Bosphorus we watch the same stars that have guided sailors and storytellers for centuries.
